Irish poker tournaments: the Irish Poker Tour calendar and the Irish Open
Ireland runs one of the densest live festival calendars in Europe relative to its size. Two things carry it: the Irish Poker Tour, which moves a festival around the country roughly monthly, and the Irish Poker Open in Dublin, one of the oldest tournaments in the game still running.

The Irish Poker Tour 2026/27 season
The season runs from 13 October 2026 to 3 May 2027 and visits most of the country rather than concentrating in Dublin. The stops on our calendar, in order:
The Killarney Festival, 13 to 18 October 2026. Dublin Winter Festival, 26 to 29 November 2026. Galway Winter Festival, 3 to 6 December 2026. Portlaoise €40K In A Day on 27 December 2026, a single-day event with a €200 buy-in. The IPT Final in Dublin, 1 to 4 January 2027. Galway Poker Festival, 6 to 10 January 2027. Limerick Treaty Festival, 30 to 31 January 2027. Donegal Winter Festival in Letterkenny, 5 to 7 February 2027. Siege of Clonmel VI, 26 to 28 February 2027. Dublin Spring Festival, 11 to 14 March 2027. Limerick €60K Weekend, 17 to 18 April 2027. And The Monster in Dublin, 29 April to 3 May 2027, which closes the season.
What distinguishes the tour is the geography. Galway, Limerick, Killarney, Clonmel, Letterkenny and Portlaoise all host festivals in their own right, which means a recreational player in most of Ireland has a weekend festival within reach several times a season without travelling to Dublin.
The Irish Poker Open 2027
Dublin, 18 to 29 March 2027, with a €1,150 main event buy-in. The Irish Open is the headline event of the Irish calendar and one of the longest-running tournaments anywhere in poker; it draws a substantial international field alongside the domestic one, and the schedule around the main event has grown into a full festival of its own.
Reading buy-ins and guarantees
Where a buy-in or guarantee is shown on one of these pages, it was read from the organiser's own event page and the date it was checked is recorded with it. Where a figure is missing, the organiser had not published it at the time of the check rather than it being unknown to us — festival schedules in Ireland are frequently announced in stages, with the dates fixed first and the event list filled in closer to the time.
Always confirm the current buy-in and start time with the organiser before travelling. Guarantees in particular are revised, and a festival's smaller side events are often added late.
Playing live poker in Ireland
Ireland regulates gambling under a framework that has recently changed, with a new statutory regulator taking over supervision of the sector. Our Irish market page covers the legal position and the venue page lists the rooms where games actually run. This is general information, not legal advice.
