Poker in Brazil: GGPoker, WPT Global, the BSOP and the players
No country has changed the shape of poker in the last decade as much as Brazil. A generation that came up on online poker now fills the top of the leaderboards — Brazilians won four Triton titles by September 2026, and the Brazilian flag is the most common one at any WSOP final table after the American — and at home the BSOP (Brazilian Series of Poker) is the largest live tour in Latin America.
Online, both of our partner rooms accept Brazilian players: GGPoker through its Brazilian site, and WPT Global. Poker is treated as a game of skill in Brazil, live tournaments run openly in São Paulo and around the country, and the 2024 law that regulates online betting has brought the online side into a licensed framework.

The legal position
Brazil settled the question that poker is a game of skill more than a decade ago, which is why live tournaments and clubs operate openly and why the BSOP can run million-real prize pools in São Paulo hotels. Online, Law 14.790 of December 2023 created a federal licensing regime for fixed-odds betting and online games that came into force in 2025; operators serving Brazil are expected to hold a licence from the Ministry of Finance's betting secretariat. Where the action is
São Paulo is the capital of Brazilian poker: the H2 Club and the big BSOP festivals at hotel venues draw thousands of entries. Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre and Florianópolis all have club scenes and BSOP stops. The BSOP Millions at the end of the year is the biggest tournament in the southern hemisphere.
