GGPoker and Vietnam — what being on the country list does and does not mean

Vietnam appears on GGPoker's own registration country list. Vietnam itself licenses no online poker room. Both of those are true, and the gap between them is the whole of this page.

Is online poker licensed in Vietnam?

No. Vietnam's casino framework, Decree 03/2017/ND-CP, governs land-based casino business inside licensed integrated resorts — who may hold a licence, which games may be offered, and the conditions under which eligible Vietnamese citizens may enter. It makes no provision for online poker, and we have identified no Vietnamese licence held by an online poker room.

So an international site accepting a registration from Vietnam is not the same thing as that site being licensed in Vietnam, and it is not a statement about whether a resident may lawfully play. We cannot tell you that it is lawful, because we have not read a Vietnamese instrument that says so. If this matters to your situation — and in a country with no domestic licensing route it reasonably might — take advice locally. This page is general information, not legal advice.

Who you are signing up with

GGPoker's international site is operated by GG International Limited, a company incorporated in the Isle of Man with its registered office at The Hubb, Queen Victoria House, Victoria Street, Douglas, IM1 2LF. It is licensed and regulated by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission under a licence issued on 15 October 2020 under the Online Gambling Regulations Act 2001. Isle of Man law governs the operator's terms, and gambling debts are enforceable there.

That is the regulator you would be dealing with if something went wrong — not a Vietnamese one. In markets where a local regulator licenses the room, a player has a domestic complaints route; here there is none, and the practical consequence is that any dispute runs through the Isle of Man under the operator's own terms.

Vietnam is one of the 46 countries on GGPoker's own registration country list, read off its live sign-up form on 15 October 2026. That list is the operator's statement about which countries it will accept, it is a live form, and it changes — we re-read it quarterly.

What players get

The international GGPoker site carries large multi-table tournament series, a full cash-game spread across Hold'em and Omaha, and the fast-fold and short-deck formats the room is known for. Traffic peaks in European and Asian evening hours, which suits Vietnamese time zones reasonably well.

Where a welcome offer is advertised, read how it releases before treating it as money. Offers of this kind are staged: the bonus is credited in instalments as you generate rake, and only the released portion can actually be withdrawn. An unreleased balance is not yours yet.

Poker is entertainment — a game of skill played for stakes you can afford to lose. It is not an income, and nothing on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise.

Signing up

Expect identity verification: a government-issued photo ID and usually a proof of address, checked before a first withdrawal rather than at sign-up. The operator sets its own minimum age and account rules under its Isle of Man licence. Deposit methods available to a Vietnamese registrant are determined by the operator and its payment partners, not by us, and can change without notice — check them on the cashier before committing to anything.

Accounts must be in your own name. Playing on someone else's account, or holding more than one, is a straightforward route to having a balance confiscated under the terms.

Tax and the land-based alternative

We have not verified how Vietnamese tax law treats poker winnings, online or live, and we are not going to guess at it. Treat that as an open question to put to a local adviser.

If you would rather play live, Vietnam has one dependable destination. Corona Resort & Casino on Phu Quoc hosts the Vietnam Poker Tour — ninety scheduled events and a 66 billion dong series guarantee at Championship III in May 2026 — and is the one casino in the country with permanent authorisation to admit eligible Vietnamese citizens. In Da Nang, the Crown International Club publishes No-Limit Hold'em cash games and tournaments. Hanoi is the place to be careful: three international series there were cancelled between December 2023 and May 2024, one of them reportedly on the order of the chairman of the city's People's Committee.

Frequently asked questions

Does GGPoker accept players from Vietnam?

Vietnam is one of the 46 countries on GGPoker's own registration country list, as read from its live sign-up form on 15 October 2026. That list is the operator's statement about which registrations it accepts; it is not a Vietnamese licence and not legal advice.

Who operates and licenses GGPoker's international site?

GG International Limited, incorporated in the Isle of Man, registered office The Hubb, Queen Victoria House, Victoria Street, Douglas IM1 2LF, licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission under a licence issued on 15 October 2020.

Is there a Vietnamese licence for online poker?

We have found none. Vietnam's casino framework covers land-based casino business in licensed integrated resorts and makes no provision for online poker.

Where can I play live poker in Vietnam instead?

Corona Resort & Casino on Phu Quoc, home of the Vietnam Poker Tour and the only Vietnamese casino with permanent authorisation to admit eligible local citizens, and the Crown International Club in Da Nang, which publishes No-Limit Hold'em cash games and tournaments.

How does a GGPoker welcome offer actually pay out?

In stages. The advertised amount is released in instalments as you generate rake, and only the released portion can be withdrawn. Check the terms attached to the specific offer before depositing.
