Hamburg's poker floor is open seven nights — and Berlin now runs a tournament every day
Spielbank Hamburg's Casino Esplanade now publishes a No Limit Hold'em and Omaha cash game from Thursday to Tuesday, on top of its long-standing Wednesday Pot Limit Omaha night. Until recently the house page listed only the Wednesday game. Together with Spielbank Berlin's revised daily-tournament schedule, in force since 1 June 2026, that gives northern Germany a lot more published poker than it had a month ago.
Two of Germany's biggest state casinos have quietly made their poker offer easier to plan around.
At Spielbank Hamburg's Casino Esplanade, the poker floor used to publish one game a week: Pot Limit Omaha on Wednesdays from 18:45, at €5/€5 or €5/€10 with a €200 or €500 table stake. The house page now lists a second entry covering Thursday through Tuesday — a No Limit cash game in both Texas Hold'em and Omaha, same 18:45 start, same blinds, same two table stakes. In practice that is a seven-night cash game rather than a single Omaha night, and it is the first published Hold'em game in the city for some time. Seats are booked through the house's own form, where you pick the game and the day. There are still no tournaments on the Hamburg schedule.
In Berlin, the picture is the opposite: tournaments every day and all of them at one address. Spielbank Berlin spreads poker across three houses — Casino am Fernsehturm, Casino Ellipse Spandau and Casino am Potsdamer Platz — but the daily-tournament schedule, valid since 1 June 2026, belongs to Potsdamer Platz alone. Every event starts at 18:30 and registration closes at 20:45: Monday's NLH Survivor at €85 + €15, Tuesday's Early Bird at €70 + €10 on 15-minute levels, Wednesday's four-card Pot Limit Omaha with an ante at €85 + €15, Thursday's one-re-entry Hold'em at €105 + €15, Friday's €150 + €20 freeze-out — the only one of the seven with no re-entry — Saturday's €200 + €20 Bounty Hunter, split evenly between prize pool and bounties, and Sunday's Rapid Deep Triple Shot, €85 + €15 for 30,000 chips on a 15-minute clock. Tickets go on sale on the day from 17:30 on the second floor and 18:15 on the third, and anything still running at 02:45 can be carried over to the next day.
The two schedules read as a fair summary of live poker in Germany: a healthy cash-game network in the state casinos, a thin tournament calendar outside Berlin, Bavaria, Wiesbaden, Stuttgart and Schenefeld, and very little of it advertised far in advance. Worth checking opening hours and calling ahead before travelling, since German casinos change their table offer at short notice and reserve the right to amend published schedules.
