The Asian Poker Tour's 2027 calendar has four stops and none of them is in Vietnam

The Asian Poker Tour's published series list now runs to the end of 2027, and every stop on it is in Taiwan or South Korea. Vietnam, which hosted the tour at Phu Quoc in November 2024, does not appear — leaving a country with eleven casinos and a growing club scene without a single international festival on the announced calendar.

The Asian Poker Tour's own series page, read on 3 November 2026, lists five editions still to come. The APT Championship in Taipei runs from 13 to 29 November 2026 — 209 events over 17 days, with a USD 5 million guarantee on the Main Event. After that comes the Jeju Classic in South Korea from 22 to 31 January 2027, Taipei again from 21 April to 3 May, Jeju from 1 to 10 October, and the 2027 APT Championship back in Taipei from 12 to 28 November.

Four stops across two jurisdictions, and no Vietnam.

That is a change of shape rather than a one-year gap. The tour's past-events list shows its last Vietnamese stop was Phu Quoc, from 8 to 17 November 2024, held at the island's Corona casino — the one Vietnamese venue licensed to admit Vietnamese citizens. Since then the tour has consolidated into Taipei and Jeju, with a single Manila Classic in early 2025 and nothing else outside those two.

For Vietnam the absence matters more than it would elsewhere, because the international circuit was most of what the country had. Its eleven casinos are mostly coastal resort floors aimed at visiting players rather than tournament venues, and the clubs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City do not publish calendars that reach outside the country. A World Poker Tour event planned for Hanoi was cancelled. With the APT settled in Taipei and Jeju, there is currently no announced international festival anywhere in Vietnam.

What would change that is a venue willing to publish a schedule. Corona at Phu Quoc has hosted a full APT stop before and has the room count to do it again; nothing in the tour's published calendar says it will.
