Squeeze

Also: squeeze play

A re-raise made after an open and one or more callers, exploiting the fact that the callers have shown weakness and the opener now faces multiple opponents. It picks up the dead money in the middle.

Example. Cutoff opens 2.5 bb, button and small blind call, big blind re-raises to 14 bb: a squeeze.

Squeezes are larger than normal 3-bets — add roughly one extra open size per caller — because there is more money to win and more players to push out. Good squeeze hands are premiums for value and suited aces or broadways as bluffs. The classic squeeze is from the blinds, where you would otherwise be out of position in a multiway pot.
