A share of the rake a player has paid that the poker room returns to them, either as a direct percentage or through a loyalty or rewards scheme. For high-volume players it can be the difference between winning and losing.
Example. A player paying €1,000 a month in rake with 30% rakeback receives €300 back.
Traditional rakeback paid a flat 25–40% back; today most rooms run tiered reward programmes that convert rake into points, cash drops or challenges. When comparing rooms, serious players look at the effective rakeback rate alongside the rake itself and the softness of the games.
