WPT Global in Ecuador: eligibility, sign-up and the live poker gap
WPT Global is the online poker room carrying the World Poker Tour brand, and it is the operator we list first for Ecuador. The basis is specific: Ecuador does not appear on WPT Global's own excluded-territories list, which we read directly from the operator's terms and conditions on 29 October 2026. Poker is a skill-based game played for entertainment with money you can afford to lose — not a way to earn a living or to solve a financial problem.
WPT Global
WPT Global is the World Poker Tour's real-money online room. Regular satellites and Passport packages send online players to WPT festivals around the world.

Is WPT Global open to players in Ecuador?
Clause 2.5 of WPT Global's terms and conditions carries the operator's excluded-territories list: the places it says it will not accept players from. The current version names Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick by province, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Romania and a long further run, through to Yemen and Zimbabwe. Ecuador is not among them, as read on 29 October 2026.
The same clause says in terms that the list is not exhaustive, that it may be amended at any time at the operator's sole discretion, and that keeping up with it is the player's own duty. We re-read it quarterly; the version that binds your account is whichever is live on the day you register. And absence from an operator's exclusion list says something about that operator's commercial reach, not about Ecuadorian law — we keep those two questions apart rather than letting one stand in for the other.
What we have not verified about Ecuadorian law
We have not read an Ecuadorian regulator's own published text on remote gambling, and so this page makes no claim about the domestic legal position of an account with an offshore online poker site, or about how winnings should be declared. We would rather leave that visibly open than fill it from a secondary summary. Everything here is general information, not legal or tax advice.
Ecuador has players but almost no rooms
The shape of Ecuadorian poker is unusual and worth knowing before you go looking for a game. The country has a real tournament record — 134 Ecuadorian players appear on the all-time live money list, five of them above $100,000, led by Pablo Valdivieso at roughly $941,000 from 137 recorded cashes. But the venue side is nearly empty: exactly one Ecuadorian venue, Asopoker Ecuador in Guayaquil, appears in the Hendon Mob's list of places that have hosted recorded live events, and we hold no record of a currently operating licensed poker room anywhere in the country. Ecuadorian players show up in the results of festivals held elsewhere far more often than at home.
That gap is the honest reason an online room is the practical option here, and we would rather say so than pretend there is a domestic circuit to point you at.
Signing up
18 is the minimum age for any gambling account we link to in this market. Expect an email address and password, your real name, date of birth and country of residence, and an identity and address check that is usually triggered by your first withdrawal rather than your first deposit. Register in your own name and real country — mismatched details are what stop a withdrawal later.
If there is a welcome offer, read the release mechanics before treating it as money. Poker welcome offers of this kind normally unlock in stages as rake is generated, and only the released portion is withdrawable; the advertised figure is a maximum, not a starting balance.
Set limits before you need them
Deposit and loss limits and self-exclusion tools are easier to switch on when you open an account than when you are chasing a loss. Stake only what you would not miss, and stop when it stops being fun.
